A naturally occurring preservative called cypressene is produced in cypress heartwood. This preservative oil makes cypress heartwood resistant to decay, insects, and rot. Cypress is well known for it's beauty and longevity. New growth cypress is celebrated for exterior uses and long life spans with proper care and maintenance. It is well suited for interior and exterior walls, decking, flooring, and paneling.
